6" WJ Long Arm Kit with JK D44 Axle Swap
This WJ is currently under construction. This exact WJ had the very first Clayton Off Road Mfg. long arm kit installed many years ago. After years of worry free wheeling, and drivetrain is getting a little tired and it is ready for the JK D44 swap.
Our suspension starts off with a 3 piece cross member which bolts into the OEM location, and then welds in for superior strength. The center section is removeable to allow transmission service without removing any of the suspension links. Once the front cross member is installed, you will install the rear frame brackets using the unibody rails as a guide to make sure they are properly positioned. Once you weld in the rear frame brackets and stitch weld in the unibody rails you are ready to install the long arms. For a stock rear axle a bolt on 4 link plate is provided. If you have an aftermarket axle, or if you swap axles down the road, our 4 link axle truss will provide the proper positioning.
The front and rear frame control arm brackets need to be cut off in order to clear the 4 link arms. The rear exhaust will also need to be modified to clear the 4 link rear setup.
The suspension system is designed to be upgraded using our new high clearance axle bracket kits. Meaning all the suspension arms will work with these new axles. The rear axle is install as of 2/19/2010, and the front axle is being worked on as I type this page. More information will be added shortly.
