Keep Your Mojave's Mojo - Increase Performance While Running Your Factory Shocks

(Watch as the Clayton Team gets works with Matt from Dirt Road Cred on their new Mojave Gladiator to get it looking and performing the way it should from factory!)
Building on What the Mojave Already Does Best
The Gladiator Mojave comes equipped with some of the most capable factory suspension Jeep has ever offered - Fox 2.5 shocks, remote reservoirs, and Fox bump stops designed for high-speed desert performance.
So, when it came time to lift this platform, Matt's goal was simple:
Enhance it - don’t replace it.
A Smarter Approach to Lifting
For this build, we paired the Mojave with our Overland Plus 1.5” system - a setup designed to work in harmony with the factory suspension.
By retaining the OEM Fox shocks and bump stops, we’re able to preserve the ride quality and performance characteristics that make the Mojave unique, while improving overall capability where it counts.
This system adds:
- Adjustable control arms (All 8)
- Front and rear adjustable track bars
- Triple-rate rear coil springs with linear front coils
- Sway bar links
- Bump stop extensions
On top we added:
- Shock extensions
- A rear sway bar reinforcement bracket
- A front track bar brace
The result is a balanced setup that delivers improved geometry, increased articulation, and a more aggressive stance, without replacing the guts of the Mojave.
Strength Where It Matters
Every Clayton system is built with durability in mind.
Upgraded control arms, reinforced mounting points, and carefully engineered components all work together to provide the strength needed for real-world use, on and off the trail.
It’s not just about lifting the Jeep.
It’s about building a vehicle that is built to handle anything, while driving better than it did when it rolled out of the factory.
Respect the Mojave
The Mojave is desert-rated for a reason.
Those remote reservoir shocks are designed to handle heat, speed, and abuse, so tossing them aside just feels wrong.
This setup keeps that performance intact, while giving you:
- More clearance
- Better stance
- Room for bigger tires
- And a stronger overall platform
A Foundation You Can Build On
One of the biggest advantages of this system is its flexibility.
Run it as a complete 1.5” setup or use it as a starting point for a larger build down the road. With fully adjustable components, future upgrades can be made without replacing your entire suspension system.
Build it once. Build it right.
The Takeaway
If the goal was to simply accentuate the best of the Mojaves features while improving the places, it falls short - then this is the setup that accomplishes it.
You paid for the shocks, you love the shocks, you should be able to run them without sacrificing the ride height you want and the tire size to match.
